MG Icon at Beijing
The MG Icon – an SUV/Crossover Concept – has won the ‘Best Concept’ Award at the Beijing Motor Show from Autoweek Magazine. Just before the Beijing Motor Show kicked off we got the first sketches of the MG Icon, a compact, funky SUV Crossover in the mould of the Nissan Juke with an MGB bonnet and grill. Sounds odd, but looked pretty good.
The next-generation Porsche 911 is proving to be an alluring target for spy shooters, who have caught coupe and cabriolet versions undergoing snow testing in the dead of night. Chatter is that this new 911, known internally as the 998, will roll out in late 2011 as a 2012 model--which could set it up for a debut at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show. Archie and his wife Judy spent Friday at the Festival of Speed with Jaguar hospitality thrown in. But the highlight of the day was a ride in the new Jaguar XKR 75, sitting alongside Jaguar’s chief chassis guru and driving legend Mike Cross, as he slithered and rocketed up Lord March’s front drive.
